Today I got the pleasure of hanging out with a great family. Bride Katharine and I met a couple short weeks ago to do a trial run of her hair and makeup. During that meeting, I learned how close and fun her friends and family are. Because of that, I knew today would be fun.
For Katharine’s hair, we decided to have the side set bun be a little bit more full than at the trial. I really liked the braid along with the sparkling hair pin.
I also got to style her sister-in-law Katie’s hair. She showed me a picture of a cute updo that was full on top and set low on the back of her head. She also had a great hair pin.
Katharine’s sister, Elizabeth chose to wear her hair all to the right side in a massive bun. Accenting her hair was a great flower fascinator.
Finally, sister of the groom Molly showed me a photos of an updo that included a braid on one side.
These ladies were all very laid back and happy to spend the day together. I am very happy to have met all of them. Thank you to Katharine for letting me be a part of her big day. I wish for her a long and happy marriage!
This weekend i got to spend time with Lauren on her wedding day. She and I have been talking since March of 2012! So when the day finally arrived, I was pretty excited to finally see her look come together.
At her trial, we discussed wearing her hair all up. On the big day, we did just that. Lots of texture throughout the sides and top led to tight curls in and updo on the back. She accented her style with a gorgeous flower fascinator.
I also got to style her sister and Bridesmaid Andrea’s hair. She too wanted to wear her hair all up.
These ladies were great fun. I am so happy for Lauren and am glad to have been there for such a special day. Thank you for choosing me to be a small part of such a big day.
Last week I got to hang out with Nicole as she was getting ready to head to her Senior Prom.
She has really long, thick and curly hair. So for this fun day, she decided to try a very textured updo. Her inspiration was a video she found online and the style that Jennifer Lawrence wore to the Oscars. So with several curls a a couple of braids we found a style that was ideal for her.
Nicole was super fun and I look forward to styling her hair again in the future!
This past weekend, I got the pleasure of being a part of a special day for Sadaf! I was contacted by her sister in law, Nabihah back in the beginning of April while she was planning the big day. I got to style for several members of the family.
For Sadaf herself, she wanted to wear her very long hair pulled to one side and down her shoulder in curls. She needed lots of volume on top to help support her veil. She also wanted to wear a side part with her Tikka.

I was contacted by Bridesmaid Annie just a few short weeks ago. She was helping her sister wrap up the last few details leading up to Emily’s wedding day. The bride and I met just last week to do a trial run of her hair.
For the special day, she decided to wear her hair gather to the right and have curls fall down over her shoulder. She was also planning on wearing a cage veil and a small sparkling barrette. I absolutely loved the way it turned out.
I also got to style all of her bridal party. Here are a few photos of their hair styles as well.

I have been talking with Lynne since early March about her upcoming wedding. She currently lives in New York so while she was home we met for a trial run of her wedding style.
We discussed different kinds styles for her to wear on the big day. Originally she had thought of wearing her hair mostly down in curls with a few peices pulled up on the sides.
After trying that, we decided to pull all the hair to her right shoulder.
Finally, we pulled it all up into a side updo accented with a flower.
It was awesome hanging out with Lynne and I am looking forward to seeing her again in September. I am also excited to see which style she chooses!
Near the beginning of May, I was contacted by Jeanie who was interested in having me style her daughter Ela’s hair for prom. I have known Jeanie for a few years now and was excited to be a part of this fun day!
When we met Ela explained that she wanted to wear most of her hair down but wanted a lot of volume on top.
I had a blast with these ladies and I look forward to seeing them again!
Over this past weekend, I got the pleasure of hanging out with Hannah and her bridal party while they got ready for the day.
It feels like it was just yesterday when I was in beauty school. I was working on the clinic floor when in came this young, very blonde, high school girl to have her hair styled. For those that haven’t been in beauty school, sometimes you can make appointments and other times you get walk-in clients. How lucky was I that Hannah came to sit in my chair. I was styling for her Prom that day and have had many fun times stylist her hair since.
When Hannah told me, a few years later that she and her now husband Richard had gotten engaged I was so happy for her. When she asked me to style her hair for the big day I felt lucky all over again.
Finally the big day arrived. I traveled to Hannah’s new house to celebrate with she and her friends before the walk down the aisle. She had decided to wear her very long hair in an updo. She also wanted to wear a flower and a veil.
Katie, one of her two maids of honor, also wanted to wear an updo. She asked me to have two braids along each side of her head.
Finally, the other Maid of Honor, Mary asked for a classic updo with lots of volume.
I am often asked if I remember things about the many weddings I get to be a part of and I can always recall a special detail. Sometimes because the bride chose a particularly beautiful hair style, or wore a unique gown. I will remember this day because even though I met her by luck of the draw, Hannah is a good friend to me now and it has been my pleasure to be there for her on many big days in her life. Thank you Hannah for choosing me to be a small part of this very special day. I look forward to seeing all the good times ahead! Congratulations!
Last month, I got to spend the day with Leah as she got ready for her wedding day in Johnstown, PA.
I was really excited for this wedding day because when she and I met for a trial run, I fell in love with the hair style that she chose. I couldn’t wait to recreate it and see her entire look come together with her dress and cathedral length veil.

Near the end of June, I got to spend the day at the Succup conservancy with Alicia as she and her friends got ready for her afternoon wedding. I wanted to share some photos with you of how these ladies decided to wear their hair!

Back in December, I was contacted by bride-to-be Carol. She was having her hair styled by her long time stylist but she wanted to treat her Bridesmaids. so Earlier this month I got to hang out with this fun group as they all got ready to watch Carol walk down the aisle.
I will not soon forget how much funny we had at the Aviary on Carol’s big day. Thank you again for letting me be a part of such a special day!
Over the weekend, I met with Kristi. She has been busy planning down to the very smallest detail for her August wedding. Even though she is planning from out of town and therefore super busy, she was able to carve out some time to run through a trial run.
She discussed with my some of the wedding details like her dress, shoes and jewelry. She also was certain that she wanted to wear her hair all u with a beautiful sparkling hair comb.
While she still hasn’t decided on the placement of the sparkling hair comb, I love the way the overall styled turned out. I am looking forward to seeing her again in a few short weeks!
On the first day of this month Annie and I got together for a trial run of her hair and makeup since her mid-August wedding is quickly approaching.
From the very minute we started playing with her hair, Annie was sure that she wanted to wear the majority of her hair down. She also wanted to use a very sparkly hair comb too.
I love the way her long hair worked for this style. I am looking forward to seeing her and her bridal party again in a few weeks!
This past weekend I traveled to Seven Spring Mountain Resort. There, I got to spend the day with bride-to-be Sarah and her bridal party as they got ready for her big day!
Sarah wanted to wear most of her hair down in curls, but she was certain that she did not want any hair in her face. The braid that we used on one side worked perfectly.
That braid served as a great inspiration for the bridesmaids hair as well. Sarah asked for each of her ladies to have a braid along the left side that swooped into a low set updo. Here are some of their photos.

Just the other day, I got to meet up with Kylie. Her wedding is next month so she and I wanted to get together to practice a little hair before the big day.
She shared with me several inspiration photos from Pinterest. They all had a common theme which was an updo with a very loose feel to it. I was excited to try it out on her very long hair.
I am looking forward to meeting up with her again in a few short weeks to do this fun style all over again!
Earlier in July, I got to spend the day with Hannah as she and her bridal party got ready for the ceremony. The bride-to-be and I had a trial near the beginning of summer where we tried several different styles. For the wedding she had decided to go with an updo that was worn slightly on the left side.
For the bridal party, Hannah asked that they all have their hair in some form of an updo. It was a lot of fun getting to know these girls and helping them to find a style that was their own.
